Dear Someone | #02

Monthly Favorites

It shocks me to think how close we are to the end of the year 2015. It feels like I've just blinked and its now almost the end of the year. Today's blog update is about my October favorites. I have been loving a lot of movies last month so don't be shocked if almost all of my faves are televisions shows and movies.

FAVE, BOOK- Girl Online by Zoe Sugg a.k.a Zoella. To be honest when I first saw it it was in paperback, but I was completely in love with it. I love the story, the concept, and I also idolize the writer, Zoella is very talented and not to mention very gorgeous.

FAVE. FOOD- Belgian waffles. They're my baes. Especially when they're filled with, chocolate alone or nutella with bananas. They're like heaven, so if you haven't tried one yet then..go get yourself some.

FAVE. CLOTHING- Shorts, Leggings and Flannels. Here in the Philippines it's not very cold and not too hot either. It's just average, so shorts and leggings are very appropriate. I also love wearing flannels because, they're very comfy yet really stylish at the same time. You can do a lot of outfits by just a shirt and flannels and shorts and leggings.

FAVE. MOVIES- As I said, I have a lot of movie favorites last month.

Sidney White- this is your modern Snow White. It's about a girl going to college an joining a sorority her Mom used to be part of, but gets upset because she didn't get accepted and goes through a rough time. Haha! I found it on Youtube, you can search it up if you want to.

Open Road- It's about a girl I think she was from South America, and she came to America to look for her father but ends up falling in love.

Bratz- it's about four best friends and, you know, I think you've watched it already no need for me to explain.

Flipped- a love story where the girl is in love with a boy but the boy hates her but as time goes by the boy ends up falling for the girl and the girl ends up hating the boy, but eventually in the end the both end up liking each other. Btw, Bryce is hot!

Monte Carlo- I'm a huge fan of Selena so, I wanted to watch some of her movies and my mind immediately said Monte Carlo.

FAVE. THING TO DO WHEN BORED- well it was our semestral break last month so I have a lot of free time to myself, so when I get bored of the things I did, I'll try and update my blog or write another chapter on this story I'm currently working on.

FAVE. MUSIC- This month I have been loving Christmas songs. I know it's Halloween but I'm never one to celebrate Halloween. No offense. I've listened to classic and modern Christmas songs on spotify and I'll try and link it below. Specifically, I've been loving, Winter Wonderland, White Christmas, Baby it's cold outside and Santa Baby.

Those are all my favor ties this month.

Confidence

CONFIDENCE comes in different ways.

Yung ibang tao na kayang humarap sa marami para magpasaya, hindi lang sila ang makakagawa non. Pati din ikaw, maging confident ang sa mga galaw.

GREETINGS EVERYBODY!

We totally can't deny that confidence is like a disease to us teens. We're mostly too shy because of bullying experience or because we know our crushes are around and we don't want to embarrass ourselves. But, tell me, how many times did you sacrifice something or turn down an opportunity because your shy? For me, tons. But now I'm ow ready to take on the world and be confident with my own skin.

Being the shy type is never really the good way to go. Good things will never happen to you if you were that kid that just sits on the corner and laughs and just blend in afraid to step out because your shy.

Don't even try and deny that you secretly have a dream to be an actress, to be a famous superstar. Diba? Gusto mo maging artista, maging kilala. Wag mo nang i-deny, ako rin. If you denied it then, girl, you have the terrible case of shyness.

Some people find confidence in their weight or their body shape, their height, their figure, the way they look, the way they talk, their posture and their smile. How do you find the confidence in you?

HOW DO I EVEN FIND THE CONFIDENCE IN ME?

Well, first, never loose hope that you can do this and can do that, basically never loose hope that you can do things without depending on others.

To find that confidence buried inside of you, you have to:

1. Be comfortable in your own skin, trying or impersonating to be someone you really not just shows how assuming you and hard you can be. Which shows uncomfortable actions that makes audiences think you were threatened or forced to be where you are.

2. Try out new things, you might be that kind of person that's been stuck to only one hobby ever since. Well, it's time for you take a step and try something new. Who knows maybe it can be life changing.

3. Step out of your comfort zone, stepping out of your comfort zone can be a really big step for you. Like, if you just want to be with your group of friends in a performance but you are put into a group with people you were never close with. Step out of your comfort zone, try new things and be comfortable with your own skin. Make new friends, perform well, be free, be happy, be confident.

That's how you find the confidence in you. Have you found it? Tweet me. Links are down below!

Okay. That's all I hope you guys enjoyed reading. Comment below if you would love to read more from me. Be sure to share to me your thoughts and comments on any social media platform using the hashtag #CesTalks, and I'll be in touch with you lads! Alright, bye ♥

THE ULTIMATE HALLOWEEN STORY 👻

Magiging honest po ako hindi po ako talaga fan ng Halloween. I was not and still am not a fan of Halloween. Sure, I'm a fan of dressing up, because I'm a girl, but I just don't like those shows that scare me or horror movies po. Hindi po talaga. In my life, and I tell you this honestly, konti lang yung mga horror movies na nakita ko. I can easily be scared. Major matatakutin talaga ako. Nakakahiya man aminin pero totoo.

GREETINGS EVERYONE!

How're you guys this Halloween? Leave some comments on who you were this spook-tacular season. I'm sure those Halloween parties are amazing right? Bet they are.

As I said, I am that kind of person na never pumunta sa mga Halloween Gala or kahit ano kasi very matatakutin ako. Walang may nakaka alam kung bakit, my family thinks I'm over reacting pero, honestly, umiiba yung pakiramdam ko pag manonood ng mga something creepy.

Pero sa tingin ko, its my wild imagination. I have a really wide imagination and sometimes I like it.  Kasi pag malapad imagination mo marami kang magawang istorya na makaka pag pasaya sayo. Pero who knew matatakot ka din pala.

You can't believe it diba? There is one person din pala na matatakot pag Halloween na, at ako yun. That's my Ultimate Halloween Story.

Quick and Easy Fall Decor | Cessielle

Greetings and Welcome to FALL!

Aside from the autumn candles Bath and body works, the cozy throw pillows and blankets and the really cozy and comfy, and warm flannels we also need some room decors to get us in the fall-y vibe right?

As we all probably know, Fall or Autumn is the time of the year were we all can be cozy and be snuggled up next to someone or that very HUGE teddy. Either way, a little room decor wouldn't hurt. Here are some quick and easy DIY's I gathered for you guys. ENJOY!

1. DIY Jack-O-Lantern Plates

Materials:
Glass, Paper or woven plates
Black Felt
Glue

Unfortunately my phone crashed and I can't get the picture from my phone but I'll try and expalin to you what you'll do.

In this diy you guys can either use glass, plastic or those woven plates.

Then you can spray paint it orange or any color that makes you think of fall when you see it.

Then take some black fabric or felt and cut up three triangles for the eyes and the nose, and for the teeth you can imagine what a Jack-O-lantern teeth would look like right? And then take some green felt and cut a stem for your pumpkin plate, and glue them on. Be sure to use a strong hold glue so that your Lantern plate would last long.

Of course I wouldn't use this when I eat, but this will be a good storage place for your make up, jewelries, make up, perfumes, lotions etc.

2. Cozy Glow; Burlap wrapped candle

Materials:
Candles (any kind any brand)
Burlap
Ribbon/Fabric (Optional)

This is really optional. You can either use plain white non-special candles or you can use some of your Bath and body works or Yankee candle, candles. It's totally up to you guys, so all you have to do is get yourself some burlap, measure it around your candle and glue it down. For an added touch you guys can tie around it a fabric resembling a flannel or just an orange ribbon.

3. Candy Corn Mason Jars.

Candy Corn Mason Jars - So quick, so easy, so cute! This Halloween craft idea is perfect for fall.:

When I think of fall treats, the first thing that comes into my mind is Candy Corn. What better way to show your love to snacking with this Candy corn Mason Jar that you can either use as a vase or a jar for your candy corn or really just anything in general.

Materials:
Mason Jar
Spray Paints ( yellow, orange and any color that you prefer as a background thingy)
Candy Corn or Flowers (optional)

So this first part is optional, but you can spray paint your mason jar any color you prefer before the actual candy corn color for a much more colorful jar. But I think keeping the mason jar clear will look really cool to.

After that optional first step, you can get ready to spray paint you jar yellow. But first make sure to cover up your surface area, we don't want candy corn colored floors.

From a distance start spray painting you mason jar yellow, be careful not to paint the upper portion. To get that ombre look you can try and drag up the paint as you go, only just a little bit. Once your done and your satisfied of the color and opaqueness of the color, you can move on to the next color which is orange and start doing the same thing as you did with the first color. Let it dry for a few hours, I suggest 3-4 hours before using it. Once its done drying you can store you snacks or some autumnal themed flowers.

4. Autumn Throw Pillow
DIY Thanksgiving Leaf Pillows. Fun ideas for Thanksgiving and fall decor in your home. Great crafts and gift ideas.:

Loves let us all chill. You might think, Girl this involves sewing, sewing isn't easy. Well, calm down babe. I'm here to make it easy for you.

Materials:
Fabric/ Felt ( in orange, brown, white, green etc)
Plain white throw pillow (or you can make your own)
E6000 glue

You can free hand cut the leaves or Google a cut out, I'll leave on after this. You can cut up a lot, depends on your liking.

After cutting the leaves up from your colorful felt, you can arrange them on your throw pillow. Once you've got your desired design grab that E6000 glue and start gluing the leaves on. As you can see in the picture she arranged her leaves in a wreath form, but the design is really up to you. Let your imagination run wild.

5. Fall Themed burlap Wreath

Nothing is so much more fall looking than this.

Materials:
Burlap and any fabric of your choice
A little hoop or a wreath thingy
Mini fall pumpkin decoration

Start by gluing the burlap on the upper edge of the wreath and of you want to get this ruffled look pinch one or two fabrics and glue them down together. Once your finished secure that burlap with a but load of glue. Then start gluing the next fabric of you choice. This diy is up to you guys, the designs and the fabric is your decision.

Once you done gluing every single fabric. You can start gluing some mini fall pumpkin decor you want all around your wreath. Just a quick note, don't let any of the foam wreath show make sure there are NO GAPS for a much more eye catching, Instagram worthy wreath.

Sometimes it's so hard to write about something when you have a topic to follow, kasi you have to stick to the idea of the whole thing. This past week nahirapan po talaga ako then nagka sakit pa po ako. I know that having series' on my blog can organize stuff, and this is purely my idea, but I just wanted to inform you guys.

Perfect-ness is and was never measured through money, beauty and appearance. It's in one's traits, the outside exterior of a person is never that perfect when she is maldita, matapobre, and mapang abuso. In short, no matter how much money you have, how many people kiss your feet because your that pretty if your capability to care and love others is not as pretty and glam as you make out to be, wala rin yong halaga.

Take a witch as an example (witch: kasi Halloween ngayon.) witches have power and strength to wipe out someone if their in the mood to do so, they're even really pretty (at  the start) , but no matter how pretty  they are, when their ugali is bad, there will come a time that they will be ugly. There will come a time na ang mga power nila mawawala na. And all of these because of their wrong doings. Nag fire back lang talaga ang karma.

See, not all people that are rich and famous and pretty can be perfect. Even someone at the street can be perfect, even though they don't have a house to shelter them during the cold, even though they're really dirty and stinky, even though they're hungry, but they always help out someone in need.

You sir are already perfect.

Flats or Heels? #FASHIONTUESDAY | Cessielle

GREETINGS!

Flats or Heels? My story.
#CesTalks

For today's topic we are talking about shoes.

Now as we all know, dogs are a man's best friend but shoes are a girls best friend.I don't know if you would totally agree with me. So, again, we are talking about shoes and let me share to you this.

I'm a high school student and at my age I believe that I am really short, compared to my other school mates. So when shopping for some school shoes, I don't hesitate to think about buying some flats, just because I want to look taller than anyone but wearing heels every single day has it's downs. I don't actually know what's the right way of calling it but I'll try and explain it to you guys.

Basically, if you wear heels everyday especially those pointed ones that're kind of suffocating your toes can cause bunions and if used in a longer period of time and hurt really bad. Aside from that it will make the front part of your feet which are your toes seem to curve upward. I don't know if it's only me but that's how I feel. On the other hand, you'll find that you feet will hurt easily than usual.

I still do wear heels to school but not every single day as I used to, every other day I use flats to make my feet feel relaxed but I just can't help erase the feeling of having confidence when you know people are looking up to you when you talk to them.

If you ask me what do I prefer wearing on an everyday basis?

My answer to that is I DON'T KNOW. Having height can really boost your confidence, I don't know if I'm the only one that feels that way but let me know in the comments if you do feel the same.

Okay. That's all I hope you guys enjoyed reading. Comment below if you would love to read more from me. Be sure to share to me your thoughts and comments on any social media platform using the hashtag #CesTalks, and I'll be in touch with you lads! Alright! I'll see you guys soon. Bye ♥

POSITIVITY SUNDAY| Cessielle

WELCOME! TO A NEW SERIES ON MY BLOG.

#PositivtySundaywithCes is the official hashtag for this series, share your thoughts and emotions using this hashtag on any other social media platform.

"Never apologize for saying what you feel."

Let's be honest were all imperfect and no one can live a life free from guilt and grudges. If you feel something towards someone never hold back and say it. Holding back feelings is one thing that can ruin you someday. You'll explode and just go crazy. Stocked up feelings can ruin you someday.

"Reality kills me yet it teaches me to be stronger."

As what Kelly Clarkson said, 'What doesn't kill you makes you stronger.' Fightback through the bad things you have in life, it's just an obstacle set for you to overcome because God wants to test you if your ready to live the REAL world. It's not the misfortune you think you have, its a challenge that I know you can overcome. I believe in you. You're strong and you're brave. YOU CAN DO THIS, YOU CAN MAKE IT THROUGH.

"You might solve a mystery or rewrite history."

Literally speaking, you can solve the problems you have and be a better person than you were before. Don't think of yourself as an individual that depends on other people to do things for you, think of yourself as battleship that can make it through tough waves, and afterwards you can fix the holes created by it and change yourself for a much better you.

I hope you guys liked the first blog post on my new series. Be sure to tag me on Instagram and Twitter on what you think, post a snap of you being strong and positive by using the hashtag #PositivitySundaywithCes I'll be sure to fave or like it. Share this thought with your family and friends and I'll see you guys next time.

What water did to me | Cessielle

Good ol' water did things to me.

It's been a while since my last post. I'm trying my hardest to do this on a daily basis but I have school, and I do have to wake up early and I do go home late at night, so I'm sorry.

Since that I'm getting really busy with school work and all, I really have to watch my health. I'm not a really big fan of water, I know a lot of students carry with them a water bottle to school, even if it's a small one or a big one. But I don't, I just feel like it adds more weight I have to carry and log around. So I don't carry a water bottle, when I have sports events or activities in school I do, but in general I don't. Is it bad? If I do get thirsty I buy water from the canteen, I know I can save money by just carrying my own water, but eh I just don't like it.

Why drinking water is the way to go?

What do you, the trees, and a hamster have in common? Give up? You all need water. All living things must have water to survive, whether they get it from a water fountain, a rain cloud, or a little bottle attached to the side of a hamster cage.
Without water, your body would stop working properly. Water makes up more than half of your body weight and a person can't survive for more than a few days without it. Why? Your body has lots of important jobs and it needs water to do many of them. For instance, your blood, which contains a lot of water, carries oxygen to all the cells of your body. Without oxygen, those tiny cells would die and your body would stop working.
Water is also in lymph (say: limf), a fluid that is part of your immune system, which helps you fight off illness. You need water to digest your food and get rid of waste, too. Water is needed for digestive juices, urine (pee), and poop. And you can bet that water is the main ingredient in perspiration, also called sweat.
In addition to being an important part of the fluids in your body, each cell depends on water to function normally.
Your body doesn't get water only from drinking water. Any fluid you drink will contain water, but water and milk are the best choices. Lots of foods contain water, too. Fruit contains quite a bit of water, which you could probably tell if you've ever bitten into a peach or plum and felt the juices dripping down your chin! Vegetables, too, contain a lot of water — think of slicing into a fat tomato from the garden or crunching into a crisp stalk of celery.

How Much Is Enough?

Since water is so important, you might wonder if you're drinking enough. There is no magic amount of water that kids need to drink every day. Usually, kids like to drink something with meals and should definitely drink when they are thirsty. But when it's warm out or you're exercising, you'll need more. Be sure to drink some extra water when you're out in warm weather, especially while playing sports or exercising.
When you drink is also important. If you're going to sports practice, a game, or just working out or playing hard, drink water before, during, and after playing. Don't forget your water bottle. You can't play your best when you're thinking about how thirsty you are!
When your body doesn't have enough water, that's called being dehydrated. Dehydration also can keep you from being as fast and as sharp as you'd like to be. A bad case of dehydration can make you sick. So keep that water bottle handy when the weather warms up! Not only does water fight dehydration, but it's awfully refreshing and has no calories.
Your body can help you stay properly hydrated by regulating the amount of water in your system. The body can hold on to water when you don't have enough or get rid of it if you have too much. If your pee has ever been very light yellow, your body might have been getting rid of excess water. When your pee is very dark yellow, it's holding on to water, so it's probably time to drink up.
You can help your body by drinking when you're thirsty and drinking extra water when it's warm out. Your body will be able to do all of its wonderful, waterful jobs and you'll feel great!
Further more into my story, through out summer the only thing I did was basically go swimming, relax, eat, sleep, drink, party. The usual things you couldn't do with school. And of course we all know water can quench your thirst more than any other drinks. Like I said I found that water helped me through losing a bit of weight. So I really do recommend going to the gym with water more then any other sports drink. You can also bring those kinds of drinks but always make sure you have water with you.
In school I also recommend you guys bring along water, either one of your own or just buy one from your school canteen. And since that it's summer somewhere and it scorching hot out there, please stay hydrated guys. Trust me, that dehydrated feeling is worst then LBM.

THE IMPORTANCE OF WATER

With two thirds of the earth's surface covered by water and the human body consisting of 75 percent of it, it is evidently clear that water is one of the prime elements responsible for life on earth. Water circulates through the land just as it does through the human body, transporting, dissolving, replenishing nutrients and organic matter, while carrying away waste material. Further in the body, it regulates the activities of fluids, tissues, cells, lymph, blood and glandular secretions.

An average adult body contains 42 litres of water and with just a small loss of 2.7 litres he or she can suffer from dehydration, displaying symptoms of irritability, fatigue, nervousness, dizziness, weakness, headaches and consequently reach a state of pathology. Dr F. Batmanghelidj, in his book 'your body's many cries for water', gives a wonderful essay on water and its vital role in the health of a water 'starved' society. He writes: "Since the 'water' we drink provides for cell function and its volume requirements, the decrease in our daily water intake affects the efficiency of cell activity........as a result chronic dehydration causes symptoms that equal disease..."

THE HISTORY OF WATER

Water has been used since antiquity as a symbol by which to express devotion and purity. Some cultures, like the ancient Greeks, went as far as to worship gods who were thought to live in and command the waters. Whole cities have been build by considering the location and availability of pure drinking water. The place of gathering was around the wells, which is perhaps the following trend in building fountains in the middle of  piazzas.

Traditional and modern medicine have been makings use of the psychological and physiological diverse properties of water, in all forms of hydrotherapy (composite Greek word: hydro, of water and therapy, . We all know of the simple, yet effective, calming qualities of a warm bath or the invigorating qualities of a cold shower. For centuries,  numerous healing springs located all around the world have been recognised for their benefits. The famous Belgium spas in the Ardennes is a fine example. Historical records of these cold springs claim 'cures' since the fourteenth century. The hot Californian spas, the healing spas of Loutraki in Greece, the Dalhousie hot springs in the border of South Australia and Northern Territory, Moree in NSW, Hepburn mineral spas in Victoria are just a few examples.

OUR WATER TODAY

Contrary to the past, our recent developed technological society has become indifferent to this miracle of life. Our natural heritage (rivers, seas and oceans) has been exploited, mistreated and contaminated.

The population decline of the marine and riparian life, the appearance of green algae in the rivers and the stench and slime that comes as a result of putrefaction in the water, are clear signs of the depth and extent of disruption that has been caused to this intricate ecosystem (a composite Greek word: eco, home and systema, a combination of things or parts forming a complex or unitary whole). Government bodies and water authorities will have us believe that it is 'safe' and we should not worry about this global alarm. Awareness and action lies entirely upon us, as we need to become our own educators, physicians and innovators. Socrates had once said: "an unexamined life is not worth living....", Jesus took it a step further: "seek, and you shall find......the truth shall set you free..." So questioning everything and anything that anyone tells you until it makes sense, is of uppemost importance. If it is the truth it will feel right, set you free and lead you on the road of discovery and recovery.

THE TRUTH ABOUT THE DRINKING WATER

Our drinking water today, far from being pure, contains some two hundred deadly commercial chemicals. Add to that bacteria, viruses, inorganic minerals (making the water hard) and you have a chemical cocktail that is unsuitable (if not deadly) for human consumption. John Archer in his book 'THE WATER YOU DRINK, HOW SAFE IS IT ?' refers to an estimate of 60,000 tonnes of fifty different chemicals being deliberately added annually to Australia's water. Some of these are:

chlorine: studies1 indicate that chlorine is involved in heart disease, hardening of the arteries (arteriosclerosis), anaemia, high blood pressure, allergies and cancers2 of the bladder, stomach, liver and rectum. Further, chlorine can destroy protein in the body and cause adverse effects on the skin and hair. The US COUNCIL of environmental quality states that  cancer risk among people drinking chlorinated water is 93% higher than among those whose water does not contain chlorine". Chlorine binds and reacts with many other chemicals, forming carcinogens like Trihallomethanes3 (THMs), with chloroform being the most common one. Furthermore, recent real life evidence in the tap water of Sydney shows that certain viruses and parasites, like giardia and cryptosporidium, are being resistant to chlorine and can survive the long journey from the sewage treatment to your tap. That makes chlorination a even more pointless and dangerous practice.

Giardia and cryptosporidium are protosoa (unicellular organisms) parasitic to the intestines of animals and humans. Once in the body, these parasites then multiply and cause the respective infections of giardiasis and cryptosporidosis, which contribute or are associated to enteric (intestinal) diseases. Other than food, these parasites are transmited from contaminated drinking water.   These infested waters are today in most major cities which is a direct result of  the unsuccsessful treatment of recycled sewage effluent. These parasites initially venture their way into the sewage effluent, from Hospitals, abattoir and farms waste, which  contain blood, intestines and faeces.  While immunocompitend (the ability to develope an immune response) people may remain asymptomatic (presenting no symptons) by ingestion of this parasites, immunocompromised (ie malnutrition Cancer and Aids) patients are at risk.  U.S Health Officials estimate 900,000 people each year become ill, and possibly 900 die from waterborne disease4. Notable outbreaks occured in Milwauke, Wisconsin, in 1993 when over 400,000 people became ill after drinking water contaminated with the parasite. Symptoms associated with the infection of this parasites are, mild to profuse debilitating diarrhoea, lassitude, nausea, abdominal pain and vomiting with consequent loss of appetite and fever. The threat and danger of outbreaks similar to the dreaded great London epidemic in 1854 (were cholera due to contaminated water took the life of many unaware citizens) is now once again at our door step and unless drastic precautions are taken on these early sign's we could be expecting disasters of great magnitude (in the apocalipse it states, that one third of the waters will be contaminated, could this be it?). For now it is about  time that water authorities admit to their erroneous ways and start looking for alternatives to maintain and preserve water safety and quality. Water is a living substance and as such it needs the same treatment as all other living forms (poisons can not purify). Germany has been for long now pumping oxygen in its rivers and lakes in an attempt to revitalise its nearly dead waters, while Switzerland is experimenting with ozone treatments.

aluminium sulphate: that is added to clarify water, has long been associated with memory loss, possibly Alzheimers disease and is believed to increase cardiovascular disease.

sodium fluoride: this is not a water treatment and was initially added as a supplement to 'assumingly' prevent tooth decay5 in children. Its toxicity is high enough that in larger concentrations can be used as a pesticide and rat killer. In humans it can be damaging to the heart, lungs, liver, cause genetic mutations and have long term negative effects on enzyme production and the efficiency of the immune system. In the medical encyclopedia and dictionary by Miller-Keane, under fluoridation it refers that slight excesses of fluoride are poisonous and it can cause dental fluorosis (mottled discolouration of teeth) and when you look up further down under fluorosis, you can see clearly the irony of the system an enamel hypoplasia resulting from prolonged ingestion of drinking water containing high levels of fluoride". Tests carried out in Victoria in 1976 by the State Water Supply Commission indicated that fluoride is involved in the corrosion of the copper pipes, which causes more poisons leaching into the water. Copper at certain concentrations effects the uptake of essential zinc in the body and can bring on stomach pain, nausea and diarrhoea. Newer office blocks and high stories buildings are more risky, as taps are not regularly used, leaving fluorinated water standing in the copper pipes for longer periods of times, consequently allowing corrosion. As the debate about the safety of fluoride continuous, countries such as Switzerland, Belgium, Holland, Germany and Sweden have terminated its use due to its potential health hazard.

lead: is another chemical ingredient found in the water that imposes risks to the nervous, circulatory and digestive systems. It is a teratogen, a substance known to cause physical defects in the developing embryo. Chronic exposure, even in small doses, may have serious implications to your well being. Symptoms to be wary of are irritability, nervousness, weight loss, anaemia, stomach crumps, constipation and mental depression. The main source of lead in the water is the plumbing and its corrosion.

The list of chemicals continues: sodium sillicofluoride slurry, sulphuric acid, sodium hypochlorite solution, calcium oxide, silt, rust, algae, debris, larvae, asbestos (mostly from corroding cement pipe lines), pesticides, herbicides, fertilisers (from agricultural run offs), moulds, fungi, industrial waste, toxic metals, amoebas, clay and silica have all found their way into the water. As if this is not enough, chemical reactions of the different constituents in our drinking chemical and sewage cocktail make things even worse.

Nitrates from fertilisers when brought in contact with chlorine and ammonia, can turn into nitrites. Nitrites once inside the body combine with amines and form nitrosamines which are highly carcinogenic. Nitrites can interfere with oxygen uptake and since babies are specifically sensitive to this aspect you could not fail to see a possible link between blue baby syndrome and the nitrite factor.

According to studies by the state of California, women who drink tap water have twice as many miscarriages and birth defects as those who have filtering devises or are drinking bottled water. Five studies arrived to the same conclusion, according to State Health, Director Kenneth Kizer. This connection now is such a common knowledge that it even  appeared as a passing comment during the movie 'ONE THOUSAND ACRES'.

Inorganic minerals (minerals not suitable for human consumption) such as calcium carbonate, have their effect. Unable to be assimilated they store in between joints, muscles, bones, nerves, inside arteries and become partners in many crippling dis-eases, such as arthritis, hardening of the arteries, gall stones, kidney stones, gout, tinnitus and perhaps even stroke and neuralgia. Dr Paul C. Bragg in his essay and book 'THE SHOCKING TRUTH ABOUT WATER' argues that the human brain and other body structures will become hardened largely through the use of "chemicalized and inorganically mineralised water".

Dr E. Banik, in his book 'THE CHOICE IS CLEAR', explains that inorganic minerals coat the crystalline lens of the eye with a fine film, resulting in cataracts. Glaucoma, the dreadful eye disease, can be another result of hard water. The tiny vessels film up with mineral deposits, which results in a build-up pressure in the eye.

THE AMOUNT OF WATER YOUR BODY NEEDS

Another important factor is the amount of water necessary for our body to function at its peak performance. Bearing in mind again that your body is about 75 percent water it is easy to understand that water must be your body's most essential daily ingredient. Your body looses each day about 2-3 litters of water through elimination, urination, perspiration and respiration. However, this may increase during illness, high performance, exercise, pregnancy and nursing. The beverages most people choose to consume are often counter-productive in promoting hydration. Coffee, tea, alcohol, soft and sugary drinks are all diuretics and will cause not only the loss of water the are dissolved in, but they will also draw water the bodies reserves. In normal conditions your body needs to replace the fluids it has lost throughout the day. Most of fluids should be replaced by drinking pure water. The rest you should get from fruit, vegetables and their juices. Attention must be given that the elderly and children are meeting their daily requirements. Dry mouth is not the only indication of dehydration, in fact it is the last sign. You need to acquire the habit to drink water even when you think you don't need it and eventually your true thirst mechanisms will be reawaken. Signs to look for that identify with dehydration are constipation, headaches, indigestion, weight gain, fluid retention, dark and pungent urine, and their associated pathologies colitis, kidney stones, bladder and urinary track infections to name only a few.

SUMMARY

Water is involved  in all bodily functions: digestion, assimilation, elimination, respiration, maintaining temperature (homeostasis) integrity and the strength of all bodily structures. Today, the water is polluted with hundreds of toxins and impurities. Authorities only test for a small number of them. Your body, being primarily water, requires sufficient daily water replacement in order to function efficiently. Water treatments, that are aimed to render our drinking water bacteriologically safe, have been proven ineffective and the presence of certain  pathogenic bacteria like giardia and cryptosporidium recently found in Sydney water is just one of the many examples. Viewing the effects of individual chemicals, inorganic minerals and their by-products, you can see a link to today's major diseases. If you drink devitalised, impure water how can you expect vitality and health. Dehydration, due to the offensive taste of the water and the introduction of commercial sugar loaded beverages, has become another contributing factor to dis-ease. The advice of Dr Batmanghelidj to stop treating thirst with medications holds lots of merit. Mineral water may be wonderful to bathe in, however, the presence of inorganic minerals makes it undesirable. Tap water has been proven unsuitable even for showering7. In an article published in the magazine New Scientist, by Ian Anderson  18/9/86, he writes "Showers pose a risk to health". Pure water may become the medicine of the future. 'Oxygen enriched and free of radioactive and chemical compounds' may read on the label of our bottle water in the next millennium.... At this stage Reverse Osmosis and C.M.D water are our best available options.

Hair Care and Color. How Do I do it? | Cessielle

My Hair Care Routine and How do I do it?

I have short hair just an inch or two below the shoulder, and I'm very lazy so, I really do not care about it that much. Before, when my hair was long it was about pass my bottom, I had dandruff but no breakage. My ends were perfectly fine, but then my mom decided to get it re bonded because I have a naturally wavy hair and I have a lot of them. So we ad to cut it. After the re bonding my hair was fine, but then it started to wear off, and then split ends started to show. When they cut my hair it was really short so I intend for it to grow back before cutting it, but the damage was really getting into my nerves. So I had it cut short again, about half the size of my previous long hair. I find it that when I have my hair long breakage starts to show off. So, I maintain my hair short or medium in length. But right now it's short because I find that the natural waves in my hair is prominent when my hair is short, it just makes my daily life easier. All I have to do is add sea salt spray and I'm out the door. Okay, that's a brief history on my hair.

Why take care of your hair?

We have about 100,000 hairs on our heads. Each hair shaft has three layers, with the cuticle, or outside layer, protecting the two inner layers.
Shiny hair is a sign of health because the layers of the cuticle lie flat and reflect light. When the scales of the cuticle lie flat they overlap tightly, the inner layers are protected from heat, sun, chlorine, and all the other hazards that can come from living in our environment.
When hair is damaged, though, the scales may separate and hair can become dry. Because the scales on dry hair don't protect the inner two layers as well, hair can break and look dull.
The type of hair a person has — whether it's straight or curly — can also affect how shiny it is. Sebum, which is the natural oil on the hair, covers straight hair better than curly hair, which is why straight hair can appear shinier.
Depending how long a person's hair is or how fast it grows, the end of each hair shaft can be a couple of years old. So the hair at the end of the shaft could have survived a few summers of scorching sun and saltwater and winters of cold, dry air. How well you care for your hair from the time it emerges from the root plays a role in how healthy it looks.

Aloe Vera juice is very effective to stop hair loss. Pure aloe gel can be applied directly to the scalp. This is helpful for preventing hair loss due to irritated, dry or infected scalp. Aloe Vera balances the pH level of scalp. After massaging the head with aloe gel, wait for few hours and then wash the hair with lukewarm water. You should do this twice a week for best results.
  • You can also make your own anti hair fall shampoo. Mix aloe gel, wheat germ oil and coconut milk. Apply this on your scalp and wash off
  • Another remedy is to dissolve a small amount of sodium chloride in the aloe vera gel. Now apply this mix on the scalp. The sodium will penetrate into the deeper layers of your skin and reduce hair fall.

3. Oil Massage:

Oil Massage

Regular massaging the scalp for a few minutes every day with lukewarm oil will lead to stimulation of blood flow to the scalp. Coconut oil helps in controlling hail fall. Other recommended oils are: Jojoba oil, almond oil, mustard oil, lavender oil. Jojoba oil is especially good because it replaces the sebum in the scalp. It also helps to control dandruff.

4. Neem Treatment:

Neem is one of the most popular herbs in the country! It has many benefits, both health and beauty. And when it comes to beauty, it has some very effective hair benefits too. The astringent property of neem helps to keep lice and dandruff at bay.

How to use:

  • Boil neem leaves in water until the water level falls to half its initial quantity and then cool it.
  • Rinse out your hair with the mixture once a week.

5. Amla:

Boil dried amla in coconut oil till the oil turns black in color. Massage your scalp with this oil. This is an effective and very easy home remedy to check hair loss. There are also other ways where we can include amla in our hair care routine. Here are some methods to use amla effectively to control hair fall:
  • Use amla and shikakai powder than you can buy in ayurvedic stores. Mix them both and make a paste. Apply this to your hair. Leave it on for a few minutes and wash off after a few minutes. Caution: If you have dry hair, skip shikakai.
  • Mix powdered amla with lime juice. Apply this on your scalp and leave on for some time. Wash off.
  • Soak it overnight. Use the water in the morning to rinse off your hair post shampooing.
The most effective method to reduce hair fall is to drink amla and shikakai juice. Yes, it tastes terrible but if you skip the preference of the taste buds once a day, the results will definitely be worth it.

6. Curd:

Curd is an excellent remedy for improving the quality of the hair and prevents hair loss as well. It is one of the best conditioners and can be used in various forms:
  • Mix curd with black pepper. Apply this on your hair.  Wash off thoroughly when dry
  • Mix curd with honey and apply this on your hair. Applying curd with honey or lime juice moisturizes your hair.
It also makes your hair shiny. This natural hair mask is also effective against dandruff which can be a cause of hair loss.

7. Hair Fall Preventive Packs:

When hair fall is really severe, then a preventive hair pack is the way to go. Here are a few packs, you can try at home.
  • Pack 1: Aloe Vera mixed with herbal Amla, shikakai and neem powder gives lustrous hair.
  • Pack 2: Henna, egg whites and curd when used together stops hair fall.

You can always go for a hair spa once in a while but natural treatment is always a best idea. Stick to homemade hair masks to reduce hair fall. Keep your hair naturally hydrated.

8. No Junk Please:

7 simple home remedies to control hair fall

Unhealthy lifestyle, eating junk and all these unhealthy habits leads to hair loss. Processed foods are not healthy and it can cause diseases which ultimately lead to a rise in high level of toxins in the body. To counter the toxins you need to drink plenty of water. At least drinking 8 glasses of water on a daily basis is a must and preferably on an empty stomach.Eat fresh home cooked food if you want great hair.

9. Be Gentle With Wet Hair:

Avoid rubbing your hair dry and also avoid combing wet hair. Your hair is more susceptible to breakage when wet and the result will be a clump in your brush and stray strands at your feet.

10. Massage Your Scalp Frequently:

This stimulates blood circulation in the scalp and it also promotes hair growth. You can go for a hot oil massage and turban therapy to control hair fall. Make sure the oil is not too hot otherwise it will cause more harm than good. Listed below are some more ways of massaging the scalp:
  • Mix coconut oil, lime water and lime juice. Now apply this mix to get rid of hair fall
  • Hair massage can also be done with tree tea, olive oil, lavender oil, sesame oil or almond oil. All these oils are known to be good for preventing hair fall.
  • Massage the scalp with fresh coriander juice.
  • Boil 250 grams of henna leaves in mustard oil till only 60 grams of it is left. Store this and massage your hair with it.
  • Boil methi or fenugreek seeds in coconut or mustard oil. Regularly massage your hair using this preparation
  • Massaging scalp with coconut milk strengthens the hair. Grind coconut and strain all the liquid and you have natural coconut milk.

11. Minimize Pressure:

Don’t always opt for styles that require you to tie your hair up tight. As sleek and fashionable as this may look, it puts a great deal of pressure on the hair which adds to the breakage and hair fall.

12. Avoid Excessive Heat Styling:

Hair styling is essential when you step out. You need to look good at all times in today’s world. But it is necessary that you submit your hair to as less of heat treatment as you can! The heat tends to dry the shaft out making it dry and frizzy which over a period causes the hair to turn brittle. The ultimate result will be hair fall.

13. Avoid Hot Water For Hair Rinse:

Do not wash hair with hot water because excess heat is really bad for your hair. Always use cold water or water at room temperature. Dry and frizzy hair when you walk out of the shower is the indication that the water was too hot for your hair.

14. Healthy And Nutritious Diet:

All said and done, jut these simple precautions are not going to help. It will always hold true that only when you are healthy inside will your hair be healthy too. Your hair is made up of proteins and is alive at the roots. And like any other living it also requires nutrients to remain healthy and grow. There are a few things that you can add to your diet to ensure that you intake sufficient quantities of these nutrients.
  • First and foremost will be proteins of course. They are the building blocks of the hair shaft after all.
  • The next in the list will be vitamins. The vitamins that are essential for the hair are Vitamin A, B complex, C, and E. Each of these performs a significant role. Vitamin B complex is most popularly known for its importance in the hair growth and hair fall control. Vitamin C prevents premature graying.
  • Last but not the least, Iron. Deficiency of iron can lead to severe hair fall, which is why women suffering from anemia exhibit a great amount of hair fall.

15. Exercise:

Daily exercising also promotes hair growth. You must be wondering how? Exercise helps in improving metabolism. This allows better absorption of nutrients in your body. Exercise also helps to reduce stress. It releases endorphins or happy hormones which directly help in hair growth. When you are healthy and happy it shows on your skin and hair. So stay cheerful to have healthy glowing hair!

16. Reduce Your Caffeine Intake:

If you already have dry hair, then rethink your coffee habit and evaluate your caffeine consumption. Caffeine further depletes the body of its natural resources of nutrients. And the nutrients required for hair are not spared either! So cut back on the coffee and move on to something healthier and that which promotes good health.

17. Stay Hydrated:

Drink a lot of water and stay hydrated.

18. Use Herbal Products:

Keep the scalp clean and as far as possible away from chemicals. Use a herbal or Ayurvedic shampoo that is mild.

19. Regular Trim:

Trim your hair regularly to avoid the troubles of split ends. Keep your hair clean, use a thin comb to clear nits and head lice.

20. Avoid Residue Build-up:

Have a manageable hairstyle that helps to add volume to your hair. If you are using mousse or serum to add volume, make sure you rinse it off well during washing your hair with a shampoo. These residue stick to the hair follicles and create a breeding ground for dandruff and head lice.

Hair Color

If you ask me I want to ombre my hair. I've always wanted it to be ombre. I had my hair brown once, because I have black hair. But then it wore off and I didn't bother to put it back. The main reason is my mother doesn't like it, and it's a school protocol. Unless your hair color is naturally brown, then you're not supposed to color your hair. Here are some pictures.

My Hair Care Routine

Since I have short hair I never really bother to care for it that much, that I have to spend money to get them done, or buy expensive products for them. I only wash them and treat them with oil or when I have frizz problems I use a hair shine.

The shampoo that I use is the Palmolive Aloe Vera one,

and I know that this is really awkward but when I have dandruff, I use the Clear men anti dandruff shampoo,

I used not only because I like the smell of it, also it takes care of my dandruff in like a matter of days. I did not intend to buy it on purpose, my mom thought it was just a shampoo not a men's shampoo. It was just and accident, but it works great.

I find it that my roots get really oily through second day hair, so I don't use conditioner anymore. I also found that it made my hair more black. I guess the conditioner defused the color of my hair. I just found out about that a few months ago.

After washing my hair, I use oil on my ends only because if I do use it on my roots it gets more oily, and disgusting. The oil that I use is the Johnson's Baby Oil.

And for my frizz problems I use the Vitress Hair Polish. Me and my friends have been using this and we find that our everyday life is easy.
